Being the first Chinese musical instrument studio located in a major shopping mall in Singapore, Heritage Strings & Arts was founded with the vision to promote the appreciation of the Guzheng and Guqin music in Singapore. We believe in creating harmony between tradition and the modern, making it more relatable to the here-and-now. This is how Heritage Strings interprets the preservation of tradition and hopes to reach out to inspire passionate students who are brave to push the boundaries of traditional Chinese music and arts.

Guzheng (古筝) |
Guzheng is the romanization of 古箏. 古 (gǔ) means ancient. 筝 (zhēng) refers to a zither-type instrument. Guzheng means a zither with fixed bridges on both ends and moveable bridges in the centre. |

Guqin (古琴) |
The Guqin (古琴), has existed for over 3,000 years and represents China’s foremost solo musical instrument tradition. Guqin playing developed as an elite art form, practised by noblemen and scholars in intimate settings, and was therefore never intended for public performance. |
